All quilting prices are determined by PSI (Per Square Inch). Simply multiply quilt width by length i.e.: 70" x 100" = 7,000 PSI.

Basting For Hand Quilters

            $.005/PSI (Minimum $35.00)

Edge-to-Edge (Price based on Pattern Category A – E)

One overall pattern, large-scale meander or pantograph from Pattern selection.

One overall pattern, Small-scale such as flowers, feathers or other dense patterns that will compliment the quilt.

          $.019 - $.020/PSI (Minimum $55.00) Category D & E

Semi-Custom One pantograph (Small-scale/Large-scale) pattern and one border pattern.

          $.025 - $.030/PSI (Minimum $60.00)

Custom Designs specifically adapted to compliment the quilts open spaces or emphasize the particular quilt blocks. This can include block designs, small stippling, free hand designs, filling in areas by adapting block designs and some border designs.

          $.035 - $.05/PSI (Minimum $60.00)

Heirloom Intricate block designs, feather motifs, SID, multiple border designs, echo, outlining, cross hatch, micro stippling, adapting block designs and customer special requirements.

          $.045 and up/PSI (Minimum $90.00)

Binding (Front) You supply the binding fabric and I will cut, press and create the binding and machine stitch to the front side of the quilt mitering the corners and then you can turn and hand stitch (or machine stitch) to the back. (This requires 1 yard for a small quilt and 1.5 – 2.0 yards for larger quilts – since I like the binding to be cut on the lengthwise straight of grain for maximum strength – one of my quirky things.) This also means there are fewer splices (on the bias) in the binding.

          $.15/Per Running Inch

(Example: 80" x 100" quilt would be 80 + 80 + 100 + 100 = 360 x $.15 = $54.00)

Binding (Comp) You supply the binding fabric, I will create the binding and machine stitch to the front side and then hand stitch to the back. (This required 1 yard for a small quilt and 1.5 – 2.0 yards for larger quilts – since I like the binding to be cut on the lengthwise straight of grain for maximum strength – one of my quirky things.)

          $.25/Per Running Inch

(Example: 80" x 100" quilt would be 80 + 80 + 100 + 100 = 360 x $.25 = $90.00)

Sleeve option If you are having binding done we can create and attach a sleeve so the quilt can be hung for display on a wall (usually the same fabric as the backing) at the same time. Customer to supply fabric and size needed for the sleeve. The sleeve will be machine attached under the top border (almost the full width) and hand sewn to the quilt backing.

          $15.00 – $30.00.

Thread We use 100% cotton thread for its durability and there is no charge for using one single color (or variegated) for the entire quilt. Any specialty thread will be an additional $3.00 per thread change after the first plus the cost of the specialty thread. Due to the higher costs of certain thread there may be an additional charge for thread such as King Tut 100% Long Staple cotton. King Tut will be and additional $3.00 - $6.00 depending on quilt top size and density of the quilting pattern which determines how much thread is used.

Batting

96" wide on the roll - white and unbleached 100% cotton $7.50/yd (Hobbs 80/20 or Warm and Natural)

96" wide on the roll - Quilters Dream Request (White) is $9.00/yd.

A quilt that is 64" by 88" would only require 2 yards of batting since it is 96" wide.

Other types priced upon request - may need additional time to complete the order.

Wool – Priced upon request (We don’t use a lot of wool in Florida.)

Backing Fabric

120" Muslin - $8.50 per yard (Bleached or Unbleached)

108" Muslin - $7.00 per yard (Bleached or Unbleached)

If necessary we will pre-wash the muslin (or not) to match the quilt top so the shrinkage will be consistent. The size of the backing will be determined by adding 6" to the width and 6" to the length of the quilt top. Example: a 70" x 100" quilt top would require the backing to be 76" x 106" or 2 +1/8 yards of 108" muslin = $11.07 based on $5.50 per yard.

Quilt Prep General Sewing: Mend blocks, clip threads, remove selvage from backing or enlarge quilt top and/or backing so it can be mounted on the frame. Includes re-pressing if necessary.

Create backing for quilt from customer’s yardage: measure, seam(s), square, and press backing. (May also require the backing to be pre-washed depending on the quilt top so they match for shrinkage.)
